If you want to experience the excitement of Queenstown and still get a good night’s sleep, then YHA Queenstown Lakefront is the hostel for you. This lakefront beauty is recently refurbished with modern decor and helpful extras – and it’s only a 10 minute walk to the heart of town.
Guests love our enchanting views, the picturesque stroll into the town centre along the lake, our on-site parking, and the many common areas on offer for relaxing and meeting fellow travellers.

You can find us on Lake Esplanade, 10 minutes’ walk from the town centre. Limited free on-site parking is available (first-in, first-served), as is free street parking. It is highly advised to carry snow chains at all times during winter.
Bus/Shuttle: Pick up and drop off at the hostel is available. Let your driver know upon boarding that your destination is YHA Queenstown Lakefront on Lake Esplanade.
Airport: Queenstown Airport is 9km from the hostel.

The New Zealand Government announced that all visitors arriving into New Zealand after midnight on Sunday 15 March must self-isolate for 14 days.
Unfortunately, YHA NZ hostels, do not have the capability to enable guests to self-isolate due to the communal nature of our hostel or the capability to enable guests to self-isolate due to the communal nature of our hostel facilities & they will need to cancel their booking.

Staff were very helpful and willing to let me store luggage for three days AFTER I had checked out, for free.

Free wifi, although it was due to a problem with the password that it was free. Normally you probably need to pay for it..
