We have a vibrant atmosphere and a common area for everyone whether you want to meet fellow travelers or find some quiet time! We also have a large self-catering kitchen, an internet room and a cinema room with Scottish and mainstream movies! We also host nightly events so you'll never be left bored!
We host nightly events from Pub Crawls, to Scottish dancing, to our in house beer pong tournament!

Built in 1846 and turned into a backpackers hostel in 1997, we have packed this grand old building full of art, character and antiquity. Some people say it is more an art gallery or museum than a hostel. We think you will love it with our bright, sunny and spacious rooms and great facilities like FREE Wi-Fi, a movie room, a delightful patio and a fire place for those cold winter nights as well as plenty of room to kick back and relax or join in the fun with other travelers.

Ten hostel młodzieżowy jest naprawdę dobrze położony w centrum Edynburga. Podczas naszego 4-dniowego pobytu wszystko mogliśmy zrobić na piechotę. Cały zespół jest super, pokoje są czyste, łazienki również. Wspólna kuchnia jest bardzo przydatna, można przechowywać artykuły spożywcze i jest bardzo dobrze wyposażona, niczego nie umknie. Zatrzymałem się tu na jedną noc, było idealnie. Miejsce jest bardzo przyjemne, duża kuchnia, pokoje dzienne. Lokalizacja jest po prostu idealna.
Miałem wspaniały pobyt w tym hostelu. Lokalizacja jest idealna, personel jest gościnny i uprzejmy. Oferowane wieczory pozwalają poznać podróżników. Pokoje są czyste i przestronne. Szafki pozwalają na przechowywanie rzeczy, a pościel jest wygodna.

Dobrze wyposażony hostel (gniazdka przy każdym łóżku, zamykane szafki, wygodne łóżka), dobrze położony (widok na zamek), responsywny personel, wspólne pomieszczenia są czyste i dobrze wyposażone. Śniadanie jest tanie (2,50 GBP) i dobre. Można ulepszyć, dodając zasłony na poziomie łóżka, aby uzyskać więcej prywatnej przestrzeni i prywatności. Bardzo polecam ten hostel.

We Francji niedrogi hostel oznacza smutne i nudne otoczenie (np. hotele Formule 1), ale tutaj, w Szkocji, są naprawdę zabawne i wesołe!

To miejsce jest piękne! Pracownicy i klienci są mili! Pokoje są duże i dobrze wyposażone. Miejsce sprzątane jest dwa razy dziennie. wow!
Ja i moja kuzynka zatrzymaliśmy się w Castle Rock Hostel na 3 noce i było to dobre miejsce ze świetnym wystrojem i fajnymi ludźmi.

Mogę tylko powiedzieć dobrze! Piękne środowisko szturmowane przez artystów, którzy go urządzili! Przystępna cena ... Personel, bardzo przyjazny i otwarty !!!! Nie widzę żadnych wad! Tylko żal, że już nie zostałem zatrzymany m'immlupine, nie jest to piękniejsze doświadczenie w hostelu!

Schronisko jest wspaniałe! Lokalizacja jest idealna (centralny, wyjątkowy widok). Małe wady: toalety są zamknięte w środku dnia, personel sprzątający jest bardzo głośny, nawet jeśli niektórzy mieszkańcy spali.
Ten hostel jest naprawdę ogromny z kilkoma salonami, kuchniami ... Ale nadal jest bardzo przyjazny, gdzie życie jest dobre! Naprawdę uwielbiałem spędzać tam wieczory czytając w salonie, grając na gitarze lub bilard ... Poza tym jest mnóstwo imprez zorganizowanych, gdzie można spotkać ludzi i jeśli chcesz zostać tylko to jest całkowicie możliwe !!
Miałem bardzo miły pobyt w tym ciepłym i wygodnym hostelu. Zajęcia organizowane co noc od poniedziałku do soboty mogą spotkać innych podróżników, krótko polecam 100%!
Bardzo ładny hostel, bardzo dobrze położony (dosłownie u podnóża zamku), minuta spacerem od Royal Mile, i wszystko, naprawdę tanie! Dobra atmosfera, są zajęcia oferowane prawie każdej nocy, personel jest przystępny i piękny, a miejsca są czyste! Wszystko jest w stylu średniowiecznym, prawie zamek na wejście, potem każdy pokój / dormitorium do jego tematu, uwielbiam to! Zarezerwowałem pokój dla dziewcząt i chociaż mieliśmy 12 lat, wszystko było czyste, ciche i pełne szacunku, szczerze mówiąc jestem zachwycony! Polecam z zamkniętymi oczami!

- Staff were friendly and helpful with activities to do in Edinburgh and would look things up for you if you weren't sure where they were located - Rooms were clean and well kept, with a storage locker for valuables - Common room was clean and busy most of the time creating a good vibe

The most perfect hostel I've ever been! I was traveling with my parents and a bit worried if they would mind staying in a hostel, which is a bit informal sometimes. But they simply loved it. The decoration, the friendliness of the staff, the facilities, even our room in the last floor though we had some luggage. Great stay!!
Loved staying at Castle Rock. The staff were so friendly and on the door 24 hours so no worries if you need help at any time. Daily suggestions of what's good to do in the city as well as some entertainment for stayers. Party atmosphere available, but if it's not your thing there are heaps of spaces to relax. Would stay again
The location is too good to be true. The character of the property is amazing. You have to stay here if you are staying at a hostel.

Nice location, quite near the Castle, and has a big kitchen with all the facilities , people there are really friendly, the common places are spacious and beautifully decorated.
Best hostel in town. Fantastic location right besides the castle. The staff is very helpful, friendly and imaginative in giving travel advice. Great discount at local pubs too.
Super Hostel, mitten in der City
Hands down best hostel in Edinburgh. I regret that we could only stay one night! It was booked full the second night so we moved to another hostel and it was just not the same.
Really central location and really kind people
A stay that full with character is a super amazing experience!
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful at all times. I had a major issue with my mattress, it was so thin I woke up in a LOT of pain every day. After the second night, I reported it and asked for a second mattress. Turns out my mattress was so thin they had to throw it away!

Amazing location, great facilities and fun atmosphere!
The location is really cool, right opposite the castle, and it is set up to look a bit castle-like with a knight's costume set up in the corridor. All the rooms have a theme as well with the beds named after the theme. There is a locker under the bed with an additional "safe" compartment

Castle Rock was an excellent hostel, the location is great especially if you are visiting for the fringe festival. There is a large kitchen with a number of fridges so there is plenty of room for your food. The rooms are all very well kept and the beds are clean and comfortable, I was staying in a 16 bed dorm however the rooms are set up to still allow you some privacy which was great. The showers and bathrooms are regularly cleaned and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Castle Rock is definitely one of the best hostels I have stayed in.
The hostel is very well located and we loved its athmosphere. It has different common areas, some to chill out and some to socialise. There are also some activities organised within the hostel (language exchange, games..). The views from the dinning room are amazing, it was very pleasant chilling out there with a coffee! I would deffinitely recommend it!
