Balmers Hostel

This is hostel is well located in Interlaken and the atmosphere is great. I recommend.

Kitchen was great, large and well equipt. Hostel was clean and staff very helpful. Great base for so many activites or day trips. Pretty good hostel breakfast. If you want extra cooked items you can pay.

Easy to meet people and chat, it's just got that environment about it.the reading room was nice.breakfast was basic but as expected. Equally distanced from Ost and west train stations (15 minute walks)

LOCATION. We arrived really late and the night reception worker woke up to give us our key. After our late arrival we rested easily knowing we were nestled in the Swiss Alps!

Lots of area to hang out, good game room, decent sized kitchen, lots of activities that can be booked at reception, and great wifi all over the property. There's also a hammock area that is great for relaxing.

There is shared kitchen for people from different places for self help food, and entertainment is free to play and breakfast is included, staff is friendliness and helpfullness.

It was clean and secure.

Good facilities, liked the hammocks and that they have a partnership with Outdoor Interlaken. Also, had a kitchen which was important and a bar open on the weekends.

Amazing staff and facilities. And the level of cleanliness was very close to a hotel. The fact that it has a popular bar of its own and several choices of entertainment made out stay faboulous even in bad weather!

Balmer's Herberge, despite being a hostel, gave us an experience of a nice wooden cottage. We stayed in the Twin Room which was cosy and nice. The staff at the reception was really friendly and explained all activities in and around Interlaken. They even have a tie-up with Outdoor, making it easy to register for all winter sports. Their breakfast was decent as well. All in all, we would go back there and recommend the place to all budget travellers.

Extra facilities like games room, recreation room, free breakfast of good quality, free wifi, free local bus service, hostel location, night check in/ out desk, discounts in some nearby sight seeings like Harder Kulm.

The atmosphere was totally worth it - lot of youth crowd, the underground night club, all the chatting at nights - this is what you call a youth hostel.

Balmers has been my favorite hostel I have ever stayed at--mainly due to the social atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff. Balmers has a very social atmosphere. It has an outdoor grill that is great and affordable for dinner, and it also has a lively bar with good drink specials. So a lot of travelers hang out at the grill and bar at night allowing an opportunity to mingle with fellow guests. Balmers also hosts parties for America's Independence Day, Canada Day, etc. which draw big crowds. The staff was exceptional. They helped us plan our outdoor activities and gave us tips on other things to do in the area. They are very informative! The rooms and bathrooms were clean. They were nothing special--just typical hostel accomodations. The property has a laundry room, free WiFi, a kitchen, and a TV room. I felt very safe at this hostel. There was 24 hour reception, and a night security guard.

Lots of nightlife, has a fairly busy nightclub in the basement. Easy to book tours and activities.
